Larry Trub is a San Antonio native who has been singing and playing guitar and bass professionally since the early 1970s. Larry has worked with numerous local bands over the years. Larry played bass in the local "Alice in Wonderland" musical production in 1979. Some of the groups he has performed with are SKY, Toatlee Bluz, Frank Rodarte & The Alamo All Stars, Four on the Floor, Sauce & The West Side Horns, and Austin's Jimi Lee.
Larry has also worked with national acts such as The Coasters, and Las Vegas entertainers when they have worked locally. Has opened for Albert Collins, BB King, Bobby Blue Bland among others. Larry currently plays guitar with The Crimson Jazz Orchestra and his group Perfecto Deluxe. The group Perfecto Deluxe consists of Jay Urbano Guitar/Vocals, Mike Sanders Trumpet/Vocals, DK Dave Katacalos on Bass, Danny Zertuche on Drums/Vocals. Larry enjoys all styles of music but favors Blues and Americana music.
Larry enjoys playing clean pocket leads to slightly overdriven blues lines and tasty rhythm. Primary influences are Texas guitarists Jimmie & Stevie Vaughan, Doug Sahm, Derek O'Brien, Anson Funderburgh, Buddy Whittington. New CD is in the works and will feature some original material as well as a few great covers. Stay tuned....Keep all of our great musical artists we have lost lately in your hearts always.
